Description

These quick and easy Sunday buns are a delicious treat for any occasion. The simple dough comes together in minutes and is ready to bake in no time. The secret to their great taste is the steam created in the oven, which gives them a soft and chewy interior with a crispy crust. Serve them warm with butter and jam, or use them to make delicious sandwiches.

Ingredients
  • 42 g fresh yeast
  • 500 ml warm water
  • 1000 g flour
  • 40 g butter
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp water
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Crumble the fresh yeast into the warm water and stir well until completely dissolved. In a bowl, combine the flour, butter, sugar, vinegar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients and knead well for 5-10 minutes. Place the dough in a greased bowl and let it rest for about 30 minutes.

    Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead again by hand. Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces and shape them into balls. Preheat the oven to 250°C (480°F). Place the dough balls on a baking sheet and brush with milk or water. Use a sharp knife to cut crosses into the tops of the buns.

  3. Step 3

    Place the baking sheet in the oven (middle rack) and quickly pour 3 tablespoons of water onto the bottom of the oven. Close the oven door quickly. Bake the buns for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
